Most people don’t just fall into the “attracted exclusively to one sex” category. Watching physical or romantic attraction over time tends to show a changing degree of attraction to both sexes. So, to get this straight (sorry for the pun), most people fall somewhere between same-sex and opposite-sex in attraction not just on one end. But, can identify as homo-, hetero-, or bi-sexual. Sexuality is just not linear, attraction to either sex is not equal, just as someone who identifies themselves as heterosexual may still find attraction to the same sex, just on a smaller degree. An important tidbit to keep in mind is that men can be bisexuals too. Remember love and attraction varies. Bisexuals are attracted to either sex, are open to relationships with either sex, and/or are capable of loving either sex as their mates. Personally, there are variance in how same-sex attraction is expressed in my life, some days I openly look at attractive women and appreciate the beauty and strength they hold, other days (where the harassment from high school creeps in) I find myself fearful of ever being caught ever looking at women whether there is an attraction or not. Almost as if I become a shy and embarrassed teenage boy, trying not to look at the cleavage (that seems to take over all visual range), trying in vain to get some sort of eye contact going before someone gets offended. Bisexuality day is September 23rd and is meant for everyone to recognize and celebrate bisexuality. Bisexuals can be invisible within the general majority, because many simply prefer to “flow” with the assumption of being straight, than to face potential discrimination or labelling as gay.
